envy_redEnvy Red is a Washington DC area native by way of Birmingham, AL. A two time graduate of the University of Maryland, she resides in Southern Maryland with her two boys. Through her weekly blogs, short stories, and appearances she promotes awareness of both the literacy and sexual health issues plaguing the nation. As a cancer survivor who was diagnosed with a rare form of the disease during the writing of her debut novel, she is determined to become a philanthropist and help others who are personally battling or have lost someone to cancer until a cure is found.

 

As the founder of the “Free Minds Project,” a youth and prison outreach program, Envy Red is dedicated to promoting literacy, helping individuals realize their potential, and achieve their dreams. As a board member of Homebound Citizens Non-Profit, assisting homebound citizens and the homeless population, the journey to help others shall be realized one person at a time.

If you haven't heard the news, I have signed on to write a column in Black Literature Magazine. I will be posting articles on various literature topics starting this Monday 9/19/2011.
